Today i'm going to talk about a pretty famous movie that is based on a book, and that movie is…….. Percy Jackson and the lighting thief.



The movie came out in 2010 and was directed by Chris Columbus, The movie was based on the books of Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan. The plot is about a boy who has dyslexia founds out that he is a demigod and that his father is Poseidon the god of the sea.


The movie on its own it's all right, but compared to the books is trash, it's so bad that even the author admits it by constantly saying that it was a big mistake and saying how bad it is. They changed everything. The characters are supposed to be twelve and in the movie they are sixteen, play by actors who looked like they had twenny, they also interpreted the character of Annabeth really bad, they made her look like a whiny baby and that she needed Percy to save her when the truth is that Annabeth is the brains and they would have died without hair, another thing fans were mad about is that they made Annabeth a brunette in the movie when she is supposed to be blonde and that also builds her character because she normally gets mistaken as stupid because of her looks when she really is a daughter of Athena, the goddess of wisdom.


The only things in common between the movie and the book are their names and that they are demigods. I wouldn't recommend the movie but i would recommend the books because they are amazing, they are filled with adventures, funny moments and incredibles characters that you won't help but love them.
